Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen in Haematology (including Anticoagulant Management and Phlebotomy) and Blood Transfusion for an enthusiastic, forward thinking senior manager to lead the North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service (NMCPS) Haematology and Blood Transfusion Service. Based at the Royal Stoke site with a requirement to travel to all NMCPS sites you will be supported by the Consultant Heads of Specialty and Laboratory Leads. We are looking for an experienced HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with a master's degree (or equivalent) and proven technical experience as well as a management and leadership qualification to continue to develop and lead our Haematology and Blood Transfusion Service. NMCPS Haematology processes c1.6 million requests per annum. NMCPS Blood Transfusion processes more than 130,00 requests per annum. Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for delivering high-quality, cost-effective clinical and laboratory services in line with departmental objectives. They will have extensive knowledge of Haematology and Transfusion procedures and experience in staff supervision and management. Working laboratory leads they will lead operations across the NMCPS network, prioritise tasks, and manage a challenging workload. You will be supported by a strong and experienced pathology management team to continue developing Haematology, Anticoagulant Management, Phlebotomy and Blood Transfusion services. You must also have experience of compliance with standards as required within work duties such as United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) ISO 15189 Standards, MHRA and other relevant professional and legislative bodies.
