Job Title: M&E BuyerLocation: Kent, UKJob Type: Full-TimeSalary: £35,000 - £52,000 per annum, based on experience. Includes an annual bonus for demonstrated hard work and high performance.Client Overview: Our client is looking for an experienced M&E Buyer to join their procurement team. This role involves managing day-to-day project procurement activities, maintaining purchasing systems, and developing supplier relationships to support ongoing and new projects.Key Responsibilities:Handle day-to-day project procurement including issuing Purchase Orders using Sage.Manage project requisition books and maintain call-off schedules/trackers.Develop material journey plans for new projects and oversee delivery logistics.Update and maintain the purchase order tracker.Support estimating, commercial, and customer care teams with material quotations.Engage in value engineering for tenders and ongoing projects.Prepare technical submissions including data sheets, technical information, and lead times.Create sample boards and samples as required by the design team.Understand project specifications, schedules, and tenders for value engineering and material schedules.Negotiate best rates, rebates, settlements, credit limits, and terms & conditions with suppliers (with management approval).Create and maintain first fix, second fix, and final kits for bulk orders.Manage PPE, including stock take and reordering.Handle Proof of Deliveries (PODs) and build relationships with new and existing suppliers.Regularly review and manage materials that can be returned, reused, or sold from stores.Visit sites to assess and manage spare materials for return or reuse.Arrange collections for pallets and cable drums at Berkeley sites.Requirements:Proven experience in procurement within the M&E sector.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.Excellent negotiation skills and relationship management abilities.Familiarity with procurement software, especially Sage, is advantageous.Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will have a detailed understanding of M&E procurement processes and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
