About the Role:
Join our dynamic and people-focused organisation as an Accounts Assistant. You'll be a self-starter contributing to a friendly and growing team. Main Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Purchase ledger responsibilities, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining supplier relationships.
2. Preparing bi-monthly payment runs.
3. Assisting the Accounts Manager with the preparation of month-end accounts.
4. Assisting with credit control and other sales ledger duties.
5. Maintaining internal control documents for the purchase ledger, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and company policies.
6. Assisting with staff expense processing.
7. Accounting for purchasing card expenditure.
8. Ensuring filing systems are kept up to date.
9. Assisting with archive maintenance.
10. Proactive and willing to take on additional responsibilities, including deputising for colleagues during absences.
11. Other ad hoc accounting duties.
Skills and Expertise Required:
1. AAT qualified (desirable but not essential).
2. Relevant experience in a previous accounting role.
3. Familiarity with accounting software (such as Xero) would be an advantage but training is also provided.
4. Outstanding organisational skills, able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
6. Have a flexible, positive approach and be comfortable with a changing to-do list.
7. Good attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Discreet and trustworthy.
9. Tenacity and good problem-solving skills.
