The opportunity
This is an amazing opportunity for an exceptional commercial and pragmatic Engineering leader to join and lead our engineering team and:

You will be responsible for managing and scaling the engineering team, driving technical excellence and best practices, and ensuring alignment between technology and business goals.
To be successful in this role you will need excellent:
* Technical Leadership: Define and execute the engineering strategy, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. Drive technical decisions and provide technical point of view and direction.
* Process & Execution: Implement excellent engineering processes and increase the velocity of delivery through use of the latest technologies and tools.
* Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product, design, and business stakeholders to translate vision into scalable solutions.
* Team Management & Growth: Hire, mentor, and retain top engineering talent while fostering a strong engineering culture.
* Scale the engineering team: Set up the team for successful scaling and for global expansion.
Experience
You will be a great fit if you:
* Have a proven track record in a technical leadership role, ideally within a scale-up or fast-paced organisation, displaying strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Have a great track record of attracting engineering talent and building high-performing engineering teams.
* Have designed and implemented best practice engineering processes and can execute your vision for change.
* Strong project management capabilities with a history of delivering projects on time and within budget.
* Demonstrable experience of utilising AI to increase speed and improve business outcomes and clear on how to operate teams using AI and how to upskill teams on it.
* Hands-on experience with developing modern, scalable, fault-tolerant, high-availability microservices. Strong foundation in modern web technologies and backend frameworks, for example, Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, Event-Driven Design, React, Next.js and Typescript.
* Good commercial acumen with the ability to translate technology strategies into tangible business outcomes.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to align engineering goals with wider business objectives and stakeholders.
* Passion for innovation and staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Location
The Engineering team is remote, but we have a Marylebone, London HQ which is open anytime you want to pop in.
Working Hours
This role is full-time (40 hours per week).
