The position is in the laboratories of Professor Imre Lengyel at the Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The project is funded by an NIH program grant that aims to identify the molecular background of calcification in the eye and brain, leading to sight and cognitive loss in retinal and brain degeneration. Experience in cell culture and animal models and general laboratory tasks is key for the post. We seek a reliable person to help manage the laboratory and ensure the project's success. The person will work with postdocs, PhD, MSc, and undergraduate students and should be a team player with good communication skills. About the person: The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria: Hold academic and/or vocational qualifications e.g NVQ3, 2 A Levels, ONC/OND, City and Guilds level 3 or equivalents in a relevant subject Have 2 years work experience in a relevant role to include: Experience in handling and maintaining experimental animal models, particularly mice. Experience in handling and maintaining cells in culture.
