We are currently recruiting for an Administrative and Operations Coordinator to join our dynamic Commercial Directorate. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, this is an exciting opportunity to help shape and support a growing portfolio of strategic, income-generating activities across the University.
As a newly created role within a start-up environment, you will be instrumental in supporting the operational development of the Commercial Directorate. This includes executive diary and inbox management, supporting the daily running of the team, overseeing financial and administrative processes, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. The post holder will work closely with colleagues in the Finance and Property/LUSEP functions.
This is a cross-University role that will work closely with senior leaders, including the incoming Deputy Director for Executive Education and any future roles in the directorate, and will play a key part in establishing systems and processes to support the delivery of the University’s strategic ambitions in commercial activity
To be successful in this role, you will:
1. Be a proactive and organised self-starter with significant administrative experience in a fast-paced environment.
2. Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels, including senior stakeholders.
3. Have strong diary and email inbox management skills, with experience arranging meetings, preparing documentation, and handling confidential matters.
4. Show excellent planning, prioritisation, and problem-solving abilities, with the flexibility to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
5. Bring strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and tools for project and data management (, SharePoint, Agresso, iTrent).
6. Ideally experience in Project Management Office methodology.
7. Have experience coordinating and delivering events, workshops, or team away days with a keen eye for detail.
8. Be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, providing support across the team and stepping in during busy periods or absences.
9. Demonstrate a clear understanding of professional environments, ideally within higher education or commercial functions.
10. Champion equity, diversity, and inclusion, and bring a genuine enthusiasm for contributing to the University’s commercial growth and innovation.
