Crane ChemPharma & Energy is a division within the Process Flow Technologies Business Segment of Crane Co, a US multi-national which specializes in highly engineered products in niche markets.
Crane ChemPharma & Energy designs, manufactures, and distributes a range of process valves, actuators, pipe and pumps globally. The ChemPharma brands include Saunders, Xomox, Resistoflex, Depa and Westlock, manufacturing products for a wide range of applications primarily within the Chemical Pharmaceutical industries. The Energy brands include CryoFlo, Krombach, Engineered Check and Pacific valves, in a division focused on the cryogenic, oil, gas & power markets.
Position summary
This role involves working as part of the Manufacturing Engineering Team and taking ownership of site toolmaking and refurbishment.
Working Monday to Thursday 07:12-15:36 & Friday 07:12-13:00
Weekly paid position

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Using tools, equipment and machinery (i.e. milling machine, lathe, pillar drill etc)
2. Interpreting and working to engineering drawings within the required tolerances
3. Servicing and repair of site tooling and fixtures
4. Rectification of production components/equipment (where appropriate)
5. Ownership of the Master Tooling Register and responsibility of reporting tooling status
6. Housekeeping of tooling and racking identification
7. Management of external tooling repairs and logistics with sub-contractors
8. Oversight of new tooling procurement
9. Assisting with Manufacturing Engineering projects
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
1. An Apprenticeship (or equivalent practical training)
2. Minimum of HNC (or equivalent engineering qualification)
3. Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
4. An ability to be proactive and work with initiative is a prerequisite
5. Shall be trained and proficient in the use of all toolroom machinery and hand tools
6. Experience in adhering to accurate tolerances with different materials
7. Ability to produce engineering drawings and use precise measuring equipment
8. Proficient in MS Office – including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
9. Ability to work in a responsible manner in terms of Health and Safety
10. Welding ability, the use of CAD and CNC machining ability would be a distinct advantage

The role is based at our brand-new, purpose-built facility in Cwmbran, South Wales. In commuting distance from Cardiff, Newport, Bristol, Bath, South Gloucestershire and South Wales regions.
