As Interior Designer, you will be working directly with the Design Manager of the Group
and will be an integral part of the design team, managing future junior members of staff. My client delivers commercial workplace projects in London and around the UK.
Within this role you will be working closely with the Lead Designer where you will be able to learn and gain a wide breadth of knowledge. With projects going from £500k to well over £5m, you will be exposed to a range of projects. The duties and responsibilities include:
1. Liaising with the client, contractors, and sub-contractors on site.
2. Extensive knowledge of build control requirements.
3. Coordinate design outputs.
4. Organise the sequencing of design information into packages and take a leadership role in settling design details.
5. Lead the production of delivery/construction documents with the support of Junior designers.
6. Contribute and ‘pitch-in’ where needed in various projects as a valued member of a cross-functional team.
7. Continually enhancing depth and breadth of design skills, staying current with external market.
8. Be able to manage 4-5 projects at one given time.
9. Develop all plans required to deliver a project.
10. Managing junior members of the team.
11. Work closely with site managers, project managers, and cost consultants.
Your qualification, skills & experience:
1. Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, good knowledge of Revit.
2. Understanding of process management.
3. Confident and clear pitching skills.
4. Experience in workplace projects - new build and fitout.
5. Workplace technical design experience.
6. Professional and business proficiency.
7. Passionate for design.
8. 5+ years experience in Design & Build.
9. Demonstrated willingness to develop existing skills and learn new ones in order to contribute to the team, support our clients, and grow within the business.
10. You will be positive and energetic while working under pressure and managing multiple deadlines.
11. You are a true collaborator, able to create good relationships with those around you and have a desire to learn and understand how our business works.
