NET Recruit have partnered with a chemicals business to recruit a Technical Officer located in Southampton.

A business operating within the chemicals sector is seeking a dedicated Technical Officer to join the team in the Southampton area. Working specifically within cleaning and wastewater treatment products and services, this business has the mission of creating a healthier and safer world by actioning key environmental concerns across the globe. The position holder will play a key role in the development of client relationships by ensuring a strong level of customer service is being provided at all site visits, supporting all client needs and keeping clear communication as required. The purpose of the role is to support and manage product installations at client sites, ensuring products are operational and troubleshooting any problems in a timely manner.
Your Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Handling the setting up and installation of product dispensers and pumps for marine vessels and land units, ensuring these installations are compliant with regulations, including safety and maritime guidelines.
2. Managing customer queries and communication regarding installations, investigating issues as needed, managing the in-person relationship with the client, providing follow-up and aftercare by other communication channels as needed, and maintaining updated client files.
3. Providing any relevant documentation, training and support for clients in a timely fashion, and ensuring that all relevant departments internally are made aware of any items that are required for delivery to the client.
4. Promoting transparency between clients and internal team members such as account managers.
5. Monitoring the performance of products and being on hand to troubleshoot any issues that arise, ensuring to keep full communication with the relevant account managers.
6. Completing risk assessments and other documentation for all visits and training, ensuring to provide clients with procedural guidance including how to set up the units onboard vessels.
7. Ensuring that adequate planning is undertaken before each visit including documentation needed, reports, costings and that budgets are set.
What you will need to Apply:
The ideal candidate for this role will have a Marine Biology or Marine Engineering degree and have proven experience within a related field and/or similar role. Applicants should be keen communicators and have good time management and problem-solving skills. Experience working within ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 standards is required. A strong aptitude for IT technology is also desired, specifically with Microsoft Office.
This role will involve travel across Europe and other global locations and therefore the position holder will need to be prepared and happy to conduct this travel as it is needed.
