About the service
Our Blantyre Housing Support Service provides a vibrant, supportive environment for team members and individuals supported. It offers high-quality, person-centred care for those with complex needs, including physical disabilities and communication support requirements.
Currently, we support one individual living independently and are preparing to support another sharing a tenancy. A key part of this role involves guiding both individuals and the team through this transition smoothly.
Our goal is to empower individuals to lead independent, fulfilling lives through tailored support and activities that help them achieve their goals. We focus on value-based communication to personalise care to each individual’s needs.
As a team member, you will provide 1:1 support, assisting with daily activities and encouraging personal goals at home and in the community. Building trusting relationships is essential. Your responsibilities include:
* Supporting personal care, household tasks, medication, meal prep, and financial management.
* Providing companionship and fostering meaningful interactions.
* Promoting independence and individuality according to each person’s Support Plan.
* Recording daily activities and maintaining detailed records.
* Collaborating with team members, families, and individuals for clear communication and consistent care.
Shift Patterns
The service operates 24/7, 365 days a year. This lone-working role involves a rota with early shifts (7:30 AM - 3:00 PM), late shifts (2:30 PM - 10:00 PM), and wakened night shifts (9:45 PM - 7:45 AM).
