* Job Title: Data Scientist
* Level & Responsibility: This role is at a Manager level without any direct reports
* Salary: £43k+ per annum, depending on experience plus a 10% bonus scheme
* Location & Hybrid Working: London, Leeds, Manchester, Bradford, Nottingham or Liverpool. One day a week, once a month in our London office
The role
The Incubation Hub is a global function within the central SMG business that is designed to answer strategic business problems that will affect the business over 12 months from now. The team is an agile function, made up of technical specialists who are there to bring expert thinking to the function and help create POCs that begin to answer these problems.
Apply analytical, problem-solving, machine learning, and coding skills to our various retail data sources to support in the development of agile POC answering a range of business problems such as 'how do we use algorithmic learning to better plan media campaigns?'
Build efficiencies and improve processes that enable the team to run more effectively and build smarter tools, looking at enhanced predictive capabilities using advanced AI and machine learning techniques.
Be a leading voice on data science in the Incubation hub, collaborating with wider teams across the business to ensure we are making the best use of the available data in our targeting and evaluating of retail media, and explore opportunities in Generative AI projects.

Why you?

* Proficiency in SQL and Python
* Experience in machine learning and predictive modelling techniques
* Knowledge of AI frameworks/libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, sci-kit-learn)
* Ability to work with large datasets or a strong quantitative background
* Excellent communication skills for presenting complex results to non-technical audiences
* Strong attention to detail and curiosity for innovation
* Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
* Experience analyzing retail data and marketing metrics
* Knowledge of neural networks, deep learning, and Generative AI
* Familiarity with NLP and computer vision applications
* Experience deploying machine learning models in production
* Interest in AI and willingness to contribute to future projects
* Experience working in agile teams adaptable to changing business needs

* Developing and implementing predictive models and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems, from insight problems to media planning
* Developing POCs alongside the wider Incubation hub, both as single projects and as a team
* Trialling new approaches to analysing the retail data and performance data we have access to
* Exploring and integrating Generative AI technologies into our data analytics and marketing strategies.
* Delivering innovative analytical approaches that provide a best-in-class service to our clients.
* Machine learning, AI methodologies, and predictive modelling for data analysis and campaign evaluation.
* Methodologies for evaluating off-site media (e.g., social media platforms) using first-party data and Omni-channel media
* Statistical approaches and AI techniques for campaign measurement.
* All data feeds into our proprietary tools (working with various teams to ensure this data provides actionable insight).
* Visualisation and presentation of data for audiences of all levels of data literacy.
