We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our team. The HCA will play a vital role in providing essential support to patients and assisting the healthcare team in delivering high-quality care. Main duties of the job
Working under the direct supervision of the Lead nurse and GPs and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of clinical care.
Duties are varied including phlebotomy, health checks, ECGs, injections (B12/Flus etc.), blood pressure checks (including 24/48/72hrs monitoring), and LTC support, to name a few.

Job responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
Perform basic clinical procedures such as blood pressure checks, phlebotomy, urinalysis, and ECGs.
Assist in routine health checks and monitoring chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension).
Prepare and maintain clinical areas, ensuring equipment is clean and well-stocked.
Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and removal of sutures under supervision.
Provide lifestyle advice to patients on smoking cessation, weight management, and physical activity.
Administrative Duties:
Accurately record patient information on EMIS clinical system.
Ensure compliance with practice protocols, policies, and infection control standards.
Assist in coordinating patient appointments and follow-ups.
Support clinicians in gathering data for audits or quality improvement initiatives.
Provide a welcoming, compassionate, and professional service to all patients.
Offer guidance and reassurance during procedures or assessments.
Ensure patients' dignity, privacy, and confidentiality are respected at all times.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* General education to GCSE level
* Care certificate
* NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care
* Qualified to NVQ level 3
* Qualified in phlebotomy
Experience
* High level of accuracy to detail
