Job Description Accounts Payable Manager, Oxford (hybrid), £300-£350 daily (umbrella) We are seeking an experienced and talented Accounts Payable / Transactional Finance Manager to join our clients growing finance team and contribute to their ongoing success. As the Accounts Payable / Transactional Finance Manager, you will play a critical role in managing the day-to-day operations of the finance department, with a focus on the accounts payable function. You will lead a team of professionals and be responsible for overseeing, optimising, and enhancing our financial processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This will be initially starting as a 6 month minimum rolling contract with hybrid working. Key Responsibilities for the Accounts Payable Manager: Manage and lead the accounts payable team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and achievement of department goals. Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, vendor management, and payment disbursement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve payment discrepancies and invoice discrepancies. Implement and maintain best practices, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the accounts payable process. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. Monitor cash flow and cash position, working to optimize working capital management. Perform periodic financial analysis to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities. Review and approve vendor payments and employee expense reports. Provide financial insights and reporting to senior management, supporting decision-making. Manage relationships with key vendors and negotiate payment terms. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and automation. Qualifications for the Accounts Payable Manager: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a professional certification is a plus. Proven experience in accounts payable, financial management, or related roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity. Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles. Exceptional leadership, team management, and communication skills. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems. Analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and automation. Detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy and compliance. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
