As a key member of the Senior Management Team, reporting directly to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in leading and optimizing the Production and Production Scheduling teams. This role requires a hands-on leader with a passion for Lean Manufacturing, planning, and continuous improvement, driving efficiencies across operations. With a strong focus on Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP), SCRUM methodologies, and ERP-driven scheduling, the Operations Manager will ensure that manufacturing orders are aligned with business objectives and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead from the Front – Engage, inspire, and develop a multi-skilled team, instilling a culture of accountability, agility, and operational excellence.
* Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement – Drive process optimization, eliminate waste, and embed a Kaizen mindset across production.
* Production Planning & Scheduling – Ensure manufacturing schedules are optimized, achievable, and aligned with customer expectations using ERP (Epicor) and SIOP principles.
* Data-Driven Decision Making – Gather, analyze, and act on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive productivity and efficiency improvements.
* SCRUM Leadership & WIP Management – Lead daily WIP walks and SCRUMS, fostering collaboration and rapid problem resolution.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Health & Safety teams to ensure seamless operations.
* ERP System Utilization – Continuously develop ERP capabilities to improve visibility, scheduling accuracy, and lead times.
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven leadership in a growth and change-based manufacturing environment
* Hands-on experience in SIOP planning, ERP scheduling, and SCRUM methodologies
* Ability to interpret and act on KPIs to drive data-backed operational decisions
* Technical acumen in engineering or manufacturing, with the ability to assess production requirements
* Experience leading face-to-face customer engagements, chairing meetings, and managing expectations
Qualifications
Degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Additional qualifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Project Management are a plus!
