Description
An Established Transport Planning team that spans across three offices are looking for a Senior Transport Planner to join their Fareham or Cambridge offices.
Your role will be to deliver your own Travel Plans, Transport Assessments, Access Appraisals and Junction Models to a variety of clients in sectors such as Residential, Commercial, Sports & Leisure and much more. You will be also leading and offering support to the Graduate Transport Planners and junior members of the team whilst also being introduced to clients and learning from the Principals and Associate Transport Planners to develop your own business.
You will be joining a team of over 25 that are based in the consultancies Fareham, Oxford and Cambridge and you can be based out of any of the Cambridge or Fareham offices. The team is very sociable with regular company events. There is also a quarterly & yearly bonus scheme that is based on team performance to further encourage collaborative working.
Senior Transport Planner Requirements
1. Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
2. Membership of relevant professional organisation
3. At least 5 years transport planning experience
4. Knowledge and application of national design guidance
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
6. Experience of working with computer-based systems including Microsoft programmes
7. Manage your own workload and delegate tasks
Senior Transport Planner Responsibilities
8. Write, check and on occasion approve technical reports such as Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and Technical Notes.
9. Prepare appeal documentation including Statement of Case and Statement of Common Ground
10. Project manage schemes, including budget and time management
11. Client / officer liaison and management
12. Assist with training junior members of staff
13. Ability to complete / review / approve planning drawing requirements, such as visibility splays, vehicle tracking diagrams, access designs etc.
14. Attendance at Public Consultation events, project team/client meetings, appeal meetings & Local Highway Authority meetings
15. Prepare fee proposals and tenders
16. Good understanding of modelling packages, and methodologies to calculate trip generation and distributions
17. Be adaptable to assist team members and cover project responsibilities while other colleagues are away
18. Attend business development / networking events
19. Assist colleagues in planning and delivering marketing initiatives to agreed costs and programmes
20. Assist colleagues with marketing the business, including Client satisfaction and maintenance of quality in respect of all business development activity
21. Develop and maintain effective relationships with Clients
22. Have awareness of the market sectors within which the company operates or aspires to operate
23. Support the development of all company promotional media
24. Provide free advice and professional judgement/opinions where appropriate
