My Client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Bridge Engineer to join their team on a contract basis within the Highways and Transportation Projects (HTP) sector. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficiency and safety of bridge structures and highway retaining walls through comprehensive technical assessments and designs.
Key Responsibilities:
Work independently to complete technical tasks, including understanding, clarifying, and developing briefs
Conduct site surveys, structural inspections, and site assessments
Undertake and present written feasibility studies
Apply appropriate design standards, codes of practice, and guides to design, strengthen, or assess bridge structures and highway retaining walls
Assist senior colleagues and project managers with technical project tasks and scheme management
Ensure quality supervision of site activities, including carrying out inspections and surveys
Assess a range of parameters to find solutions and progress tasks to meet client briefs or expectations
Produce work in formats such as technical reports, drawings, and other work information, including contracts and specifications
Utilise industry-standard specifications, guidance, and technical analysis software, including AutoCAD, for producing drawings
Provide technical advice and support to clients and colleagues
Job Requirements:
Experience in bridge engineering, including structural inspections and site assessment
Familiarity with industry standards, design codes, and technical analysis software
Proficiency in AutoCAD for producing technical drawings
Ability to work independently and manage technical tasks without supervision
Strong communication skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
Experience in presenting technical work through reports and drawings
Understanding of quality supervision and site activity management
Strong problem-solving skills and technical knowledge
