Job Title: Senior Employee Relations Advisor
Location: Croydon
Contract Type: Temporary, on-going
Pay Rate: £19.71/hr
Hours: Fulltime Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours a week
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Senior Employee Relations Advisor to join a dynamic HR team. The post holder will play a key role in providing a professional, legally compliant, and people-focused employee relations service across the organisation.
Working closely with managers, staff networks, partnership teams, and external stakeholders, you will offer expert guidance on a wide range of employee relations matters. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of policies that support a fair, inclusive, and effective working environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide expert advice on complex employee relations issues, including sickness absence, disciplinary, grievance, harassment and bullying, capability, and investigations.
2. Support the delivery of training and upskilling initiatives for managers on HR policies and processes.
3. Work collaboratively with Occupational Health and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) providers to support staff wellbeing.
4. Lead and contribute to job evaluation panels to ensure consistency and fairness.
5. Support formal hearings, including disciplinary and dismissal panels, providing guidance to managers.
6. Work with HR Business Partners and senior leadership to implement best practices in employee relations.
7. Contribute to policy development and review, ensuring alignment with employment law and best practice.
8. Maintain accurate records of employee relations cases and generate reports for senior management as required.
9. Support consultation and restructuring processes, including redundancy and redeployment initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
10. CIPD qualification (or equivalent experience) and strong knowledge of employment law.
11. Proven experience in providing employee relations advice within a complex organisation, preferably within the public sector.
12. Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
13. Experience in delivering training and development sessions for managers.
14. Ability to manage a diverse caseload while maintaining a people-focused and legally sound approach.
15. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and make informed decisions.
