Role: Registered Manager – Children’s Home
Location: Monmouthshire
Salary: £45,500 - £50,000 per annum dependant on experience & qualifications.

Role Description:
This is a full-time on-site role as a Registered Care Manager located in Monmouthshire.
As a Registered Manager, you will be responsible for leading a staff team and overseeing the day-to-day running of our new 4-bedded Children's home supporting Young People with Emotional & Behavioural difficulties.
Leadership and Management:
* Develop a service that offers a high standard of care and support for the young people in line with the Home’s Statement of Purpose.
* Work closely with the Responsible Individual to recruit the right people for your home. Complete company induction and personal development plans, retaining a strong team to ensure familiar faces for the young people.
* Provide effective leadership and management of the children's home, ensuring the welfare and safety of all children in our care at all times.
* Supervise and support the staff team, fostering a positive and inclusive culture within the team.
* Develop and implement person-centred care plans in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, ensuring each young person has a tailored plan that addresses their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
* Develop and implement systems to consult young people about the care they receive.
* Allocate Key Workers: Assign a Key Worker to each young person to implement their care plan.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
* Maintain high standards of care delivery, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, including CIW and Social Care Wales.
* Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess service provision and identify areas for improvement.
* Take appropriate action to address any issues or deficiencies identified through audits, inspections, or complaints.
* Handle complaints and concerns and develop a culture of openness and transparency.
* Ensure the children in your service are cared for at the best possible standard.
* As designated safeguarding lead for the home, ensure that all safeguarding concerns are notified, and the protocol followed in line with the Wales Safeguarding Procedures.
Partnership Working and Stakeholder Engagement:
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, schools, and external agencies.
* Act as an advocate for the children in our care, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes and promoting their rights and welfare.
* Collaborate with external partners to provide additional support services and opportunities for children to thrive.
* Work in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals to promote the welfare of young people.
* Participate in regular meetings and contribute to ongoing review of care planning as appropriate.
Skills & Qualifications:
* QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services or an equivalent qualification accepted by SCW.
* At least 3 years' proven experience working as a Registered manager within a children's residential care setting.
* Be registered or willing to register as a Manager with SCW as the regulatory body.
* Thorough knowledge of the current childcare legislation, RISCA regulations, CIW processes, SCW and best practice guidelines relating to children's services in Wales.
* Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.
* Strong and effective communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
* Passion for helping children and young people achieve their potential with the ability to lead, inspire and motivate a team.
* Efficient in planning, organising, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership.
* Excellent knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and external stakeholders.
* A commitment to promoting the rights and welfare of children and young people, with a person-centred approach to care.
* A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
* Ability to work flexible hours and participate in an on-call rota as required.
