What's involved with this role: Temporary Information Governance Officer - Legal Services Job Ref: NW Leicestershire 5255226 Pay Rate: up to £17.96 per hour PAYE depending on experience Hours per week: 36.25 Monday – Friday, normal working hours Role Length: This opening assignment is for 2-3 months City: COALVILLE Hours offered may be less dependent on rate. Prepared to be flexible about working hours, including evening working as required Support the Council’s Legal Services Team and Data Protection Officer to ensure that the council meets its obligations in relation to data protection, freedom of information and information management. Key Responsibilities: Carry out the end-to-end process for responding to Freedom of Information Act and Subject Access requests to ensure statutory deadlines are met Regular contact with other services, residents and elected members Supporting officers with Data Protection Impact Assessments Supporting ICT ensuring continued security of our information assets Supporting the Data Protection Officer and Legal Team where required Qualifications: Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of the role of Local Government and the environment within which it operates Evidence of expertise in the field of Information Management and Freedom of Information Experience: Experience in the field of Freedom of Information Law and Information Management Skills & Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, able to quickly build and maintain rapport with a varying range of people Good communication skills (both verbal and written) Effective networking and influencing and negotiation skills Strongly analytical, numerate and excellent writing abilities Ability to work with minimum supervision, individually and and as part of a team Ability to work with people at all levels Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines Ability to work effectively and diplomatically with the public, sometimes in difficult situations Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent and bespoke IT software systems Please quote the Job Title & Vacancy Reference No. in your application, or we will be unable to match your CV to the role being applied for.
