Role overview
The Management Accountant (Overseas & Group Operations) will ensure that Astro Lighting INC (ALINC) and Astro Lighting (Europe) B.V (ALEBV) accounts are well maintained and understood at all times, and that business leaders understand the drivers of global operations performance.

Candidate profile
The Management Accountant (Overseas & Group Operations) must have strong communication, organization, and analytical skills with an attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively while working to deadlines. They must be adept at communicating with non-financial managers, an energetic self-starter, flexible, and work well in a team environment.
In order to ensure that the month-end procedure is achieved in a timely manner, you will be responsible for ensuring that certain records, registers, and reconciliations are kept up to date. The primary role will be the owner of the US and European trading entity (Astro Lighting INC (ALINC) and Astro Lighting (Europe) B.V (ALEBV)) and ensuring the ledger is accurate and up to date at all times. In addition, providing a group perspective for operations (direct costs, warehousing, and transport) and ensuring the Director of Operations understands their actual and forecast costs and the impact of their decisions.
Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring the Group's working capital across all entities. You will analyze and report the consolidated working capital position regularly to the Group Accountant and CFO.
Responsibilities
* Reporting, forecasting, and budgeting of Group Operations and Cost of Sales presenting to Director of Operations, ensuring understanding.
* Compile the Group Operations and Cost of Sales budget for Group Accountant/CFO review and communicate final overhead budgets to stakeholders.
* Monitor the consolidated working capital position, including cash flow, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory across all entities.
* Preparation of the following within ALINC and ALEBV:
o Stock reconciliation and provision.
o Warranty provision calculation.
o Rebate reporting and accrual reconciliation.
o Oversight of AP including reviewing aged creditors, verifying new suppliers, and regular credit checks for key suppliers.
o Oversight of AR including reviewing aged debtors and monitoring bad debt provisions.
o Processing payroll and tax payments.
o Overseas monthly payroll and maintenance of payroll reconciliation.
o Closing of month-end provisions, prepayments, and accruals.
o Capex and maintenance of fixed asset register.
o Running of month-end reports and reconciliation to nominal accounts.
o Ensure intercompany accounts are reconciled monthly.
o Support the UK Group Audit, provide ALINC and ALEBV documents and relevant samples as needed to assist with the audit process.
* Prepare Monthly Intrastat and EC Sales declarations for EU countries on a monthly basis.
* Collaborate with external European Advisors, assist in the preparation and review of quarterly VAT submissions, ensuring reconciliation with the ledger.
* Work with external Netherlands Advisors, assist in preparing the annual ALEBV financial statements and corporation tax calculations.
* Receive, review, and promptly action all correspondence and documents received in the European mailbox, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate departments or handled as required.
* Ensure the accuracy and completeness of US state tax returns by performing monthly reconciliations and resolving any discrepancies.
* Collaborate with the external tax company (US) to support the preparation and submission of annual federal and state tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Provide general administrative and financial ad hoc support to the US team as needed.
* Finance dept's key point of contact for US & EU sales teams.
* Any projects or tasks as directed by the Group Accountant or CFO.
About you
Experience and knowledge
* Part qualified accountant - ACCA, ACA, or CIMA.
* NAV ERP system skills along with JET reporting preferable.
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Ideally experience of multi-currency, global business.
* Experienced at dealing with non-finance managers.
