We are currently seeking an Operations Engineer, reporting directly to the Operations Manager to join our team based in Weymouth, Massachusetts, USA. Our Operations Group is responsible for the design, construction, and operation of bench and pilot scale chemical process equipment for the improvement of the existing and development of new chemical process technologies, with a focus on Energy Transition, Renewable Fuels, and Sustainable Chemistries. Members of the Operations Group love hands-on building and operation of complex and novel mechanical and chemical equipment. Successful candidates will have a passion for converting engineering designs and concepts into small scale operating plants. As part of the Operations Group, opportunities to learn and grow will be part of every assignment.
OPERATION GROUP ACTIVITIES:
Daily work activities include:
1. Design, construct, operate, modify, and maintain bench and pilot plant scale chemical process development equipment
2. Conduct chemical and physical analysis
3. Engineering specification, procurement, and management of specialized and complex parts and components
4. Process data collection
5. Maintenance of complex infrastructure systems
6. Hazardous material response team member
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
All Weymouth-based employees are expected to work both in the Office and Shop areas. Tasks such as experimental design and data review and analysis are done in a typical open-architecture office environment with climate-controlled spaces, desk and chair. The analytical laboratories are climate-controlled, but the shop areas are not air-conditioned. The position requires significant periods of time attending to analytical equipment in both these areas. A wide range of hazardous materials are stored and used in the analytical laboratories and shop area. The office environment requires sitting, operating a computer, walking, and some lifting. The analytical laboratories and shop require frequent walking, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing upward, and lifting daily. Emergency Response activities require the completion and passing of a HAZMAT physical that includes respiratory certification.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. Minimum of Associates Degree in Engineering plus additional training in a relevant field.
2. Will consider candidates with in-service training in mechanical and electronic systems.
