You will be responsible for the installation and repair of fire detection and security systems. You will work as a team player in line with our values and independently with confidence to carry out the works as required.
Duties
* Carry out installation of Fire and Security products including CCTV, Access Control, Intruder/ Fire alarms
* Carry out small works and project works in line with the Company’s quality standards
* Conduct all first and second fixing works associated with security system installations
* Complete work to a NSI standard
* Have a strong understanding of the fire and emergency light regulations
* Comply with policies relating to Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Technical Compliance issues that affect the customer and employees
* Use the CRM system correctly and efficiently, logging travel time, job start & finish and adding informative job notes onto daily worksheets
* Complete the scheduled maintenance of the fire detection and/or emergency light systems at our customers' sites.
* Ensure all relevant engineering practices are adhered to - report any inconsistencies to a senior engineer or your service supervisor
* Ensure all jobs, maintenance or remedial works are attended to where possible, escalate to your line manager and the office if delays or difficulties are encountered
* Being accountable for, and ensuring effective self-management, planning and delivery of the designated workload
* Take photos and upload to the CRM system.
* Being able to confidently design small installations and assist in the design of larger installations
* Always ensure good timekeeping and housekeeping, making sure you are setting the right example.
* Carry out all duties in accordance with the Company employee handbook
* Use provided documentation to try and resolve faults in the first instance
* Work in a cost-effective and cost-efficient manner
* Practice good housekeeping onsite and in vehicle
* Attend training courses to extend knowledge and skillset of various manufacturers' products
* Mentor trainee engineers
* Identifying quality of work
* Rectifying any mistakes that have occurred
* Lead by example
* Complete complex and non-complex installations of fire, access control, intruder alarm and video surveillance systems
Skills
* Understands different types of cable containment systems
* Demonstrates a logical and highly competent approach to the installation of Fire Detection and Alarm Systems
* Good working knowledge of intruder alarms (additional experience in the wider product range; CCTV, entry and access control systems, and fire alarms is an advantage)
* Basic IT knowledge, e.g. software installation into Windows Operating Systems, IP based systems, and networking principles
* Strong technical knowledge
* Experience in system design and root cause analysis
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the fire and security industry
The candidate must have a clean driving license and be able to commute to Salisbury (within 1 hour of the office).
The position is full time Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:00. You will be based at our Salisbury office and you will be required to carry out work in Salisbury and the surrounding areas.
If you are successful at the interview, you must be able to provide:
* A five-year background history for security clearance
* ID documents for PNC & Enhanced DBS checks
