Job Description Are you passionate about precision machining and ready to take your skills to the next level? We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our dynamic Pattern Shop team as a Machinist. In this role, you'll be responsible for setting up and machining patterns and carbon components to drawings, using advanced 5-axis machining technology, while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. As a Machinist in our Pattern Shop, your key responsibilities will be: Operate 5-axis machining centers to produce high-quality patterns, jigs, and components. Work closely with supervisors to ensure that all machining operations meet deadlines and are completed at optimum efficiency. Collaborate with the TPP department to resolve machining challenges and suggest improvements for enhanced quality and cycle time. Proactively communicate with other departments to establish and share best practices across the business. Conduct self-inspections and quality checks to ensure components are correct the first time. Ensure accurate recording of work orders and shop floor data. Maintain thorough communication between shifts to ensure smooth handovers and minimal downtime. Ensure tooling is built and stored to the highest specification. Represent the department with professionalism, adhering to high standards of conduct and presentation. Contribute ideas for process improvement and work toward department and personal performance goals. Stay informed of cost cap requirements and implement them in your work processes. We are looking for a Machinist with the following skills and experience: Completion of a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent experience in a similar environment. Proficient in operating both 3-axis and 5-axis machining centers. Strong understanding of various materials and their properties. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with precision. Being able to work independently and efficiently, while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Passionate about continuous improvement, and share ideas and feedback to help refine our machining processes and workflows.
