We are now seeking to strengthen and grow our Engineering team in London, by recruiting an experienced Planner on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a range of experience within the Civil Engineering/Transportation/Infrastructure sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Planning Engineer to further their career in a highly motivated and inspirational environment. The Planning Engineer will take the planning lead on portfolio of packages Produce the plans, programmes, visual reports, narrative, and data for submission to the client as per Contract requirements. Responsible for ensuring all Planning related inputs are reliable and provided in a timely manner to support the Performance Measurement Update (PMU) process, responsible for supporting the monthly the clause 32 issue Produce internal reports regarding progress and forecasts in order to assist the project team to mitigate risk, identify opportunity, and deliver the project safely, on time, and on/under budget. Assist the Project Controls team in reporting against KPI’s by providing up to date information from the programme. Lead programme development and maintenance for relevant packages. Manage interfaces between work packages. Identify risk to the programme, make time risk allowance in the programme and contribute to the project risk and opportunity log. Development of What-if scenarios to mitigate potential schedule delay and proactively report to the Planning Lead, Coach / train graduate and junior planning team members in the use of planning methods & techniques and programme software. Communicate and gain approval from the project team for the methods proposed and the sequence of the plan utilising visual aids (e.g. stage diagrams; sequence diagrams etc.). Issue programmes of work in accordance with Document Control system Review and comment on Sub-Contractor programmes for acceptance and identify solutions to programme related issues in a collaborative manner. Develop CE programmes in line with NEC3 Contract for submission to the Client for acceptance. Experience of scheduling within large complex environments within the construction and engineering industry Excellent Primavera P6 skills, especially in generating reports (internal or client facing) Advanced proficiency in MS office including Excel, Power Point, Vision, Word Understanding of NEC contracts Change control & trend analysis – EVA, SPI/CPI reporting Good understanding of Project Controls and alignment of programme, cost, budget, risk and change Understanding of the Building or Civil Engineering construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment and labour requirements Demonstrate a calm and methodical approach to working to deadlines Excellent organisation mindset. Has ability and confidence in organising many intangibles concurrently.
