YTL Construction (Infrastructure) are embarking on their largest capital delivery programme to date and are looking for a motivated Project Engineer to take on a key role in the delivery of the Design and Build Treatment AMP8 Programme.
This is a great opportunity to deliver multi-million-pound wastewater engineering projects which will make a positive difference to society and to the environment.
You'll get to collaborate with a wide range of Capital Delivery Partners within a friendly and inclusive team, whilst experiencing the full project lifecycle from design to construction and commissioning.

What you'll do
As a Project Engineer, you will be working with the Lead Design Engineers and the Project Management team based in the South and Southwest Area of the Wessex Water region, in Bristol, Bath, Dorchester and Poole. It is envisaged that the design teams will primarily be based in Bristol and Bath for the next 1 – 2 years, with projects subsequently based on-site in the South.
Your role will vary throughout the project lifecycle. The key areas of your focus will be:
Stakeholder Engagement
* You'll engage with a wide range of stakeholders, liaising with design and delivery teams including process, civil, mechanical, and electrical, automation & commissioning teams. Working directly with the Project Managers and our Capital Delivery Partners. Communicating with third party stakeholders regarding land use, environmental constraints, power supply. The key focus of this role is facilitating delivery through active communication.
Contract Management
* You'll work with our Project Managers to oversee the delivery of all phases of engineering schemes in accordance with the NEC4 contract. You will manage work packages, ensuring adherence to client specifications, programme and budget and will report on project milestones.
Technical Assurance
* You'll work with Technical Managers and the design team to provide technical assurance and guidance of the projects on a programme scale, ensuring improvements found on one scheme are translated across a whole programme.
Costing
* Supporting with the development of Operational and Carbon costing of schemes.
Risk Management
* Working together with our Capital Delivery Partner to identify and mitigate risks as early as possible.
Continuous Improvement
* Facilitating and where possible leading programme wide working groups focusing on iterative improvement of design and delivery.
Health and Safety
* Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and environmental compliance.
What you'll need

* A self-motivated individual who is an excellent communicator and enjoys working in a team.

* Able to maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders.
* Relevant engineering degree/certificate or time served experience.
* Computer literate with good knowledge of MS Office.
In addition, we are looking for:
* Experience in the water utility or similar construction industry is advantageous.
* Experience working with Construction Design Management Regulations (CDM).
* Project risk management, including safety, environmental, process, programme and budget.
There is some travel, a valid full driving license is necessary. Use of your own vehicle is required and business mileage will be reimbursed.
