Job Title: Corporate Fundraising Officer
Hours: 37.5 hours a week
Contract: One year fixed term with a view to being permanent
Salary: To be agreed depending upon experience

Reporting To: Head of Marketing
Our mission is simple; to improve the quality of your life by helping you cope with and come to terms with your cancer diagnosis and all the changes that come with it. We have been helping people in our community for over 20 years. In that time we’ve supported over 20,000 people with free emotional, physical, and practical support.
Purpose of this role:
To take responsibility for securing income from new corporate supporters, with a focus on growing new relationships and developing high-level, multi-year partnerships. This role will be part of a small fundraising team who are driving forward new initiatives and ways of significantly increasing and diversifying the income for The Nightingale Cancer Support Centre.
Key responsibilities:
1. Understanding the motivations that encourage companies to give and to be confident in researching and identifying companies.
2. Taking the lead to develop relationships with existing and new prospects with a view to growing the charity’s income.
3. Managing all income streams, regular donations, bucket collections, one-off donations, and funds generated from third-party engagement.
4. Communicating and networking with the aim to deliver presentations and proposals that tell our story.
5. Working alongside the Head of Marketing to create fundraising products and tools to help support our partners.
6. Assisting with all levels of corporate administration, thank you letters, certificates, project reports, updating information via the database, website, and social media, etc.
Essential requirements include:
1. Proven track record in delivering income targets of £100k and upwards.
2. Ability to research, compile and manage corporate prospects.
3. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with a range of audiences.
4. Ability to develop high-quality, coherent, and thorough fundraising proposals and pitches.
5. Good attention to detail.
6. Strong analytical skills.
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Competence in the use of IT tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
9. Able to work independently, applying own initiative.
10. Able to be flexible and adaptable (attending networking events and meetings as necessary).
11. A full clean driving licence and use of a vehicle.
