Role: SEND Teaching Assistant
Start Date: March 2025
Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Location: Reading
In this role, you will work closely with students aged 4 to 18, providing tailored support to meet a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Working one-on-one or in small groups.
2. Assisting with personal care when required.
3. Collaborating with teachers and specialists to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
Flexibility is key, as you’ll be supporting students across different classrooms and age groups.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience—whether personal or professional—supporting individuals with special needs in a school, care or home setting. Strong communication skills, patience and a willingness to provide personal care are essential, along with the ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students.
