Civils HSEQ Manager
Salary: Up to £65,000 plus package
Location: Kent
We're on the lookout for a HSEQ Manager to take ownership of health, safety, environmental and quality standards across a variety of exciting civil engineering projects. You'll work alongside dedicated site teams, offering support, sharing expertise, and driving a culture of continuous improvement throughout the business.
This is more than just a compliance role, it's a chance to shape attitudes, influence behaviours, and be the visible face of HSEQ excellence across the company.
What You'll Be Doing
Championing Standards
·Be a visible leader in promoting occupational health, wellbeing and monthly safety themes across projects.
·Deliver engaging site standdowns, toolbox talks and HSEQ briefings.
Advisory & Support
·Provide day-to-day HSEQ guidance to site teams and senior management.
·Offer hands-on support with incident response, quality control, and system implementation.
·Review incident investigations, identify root causes, and help develop proactive lessons learnt.
Monitoring & Improvement
·Carry out regular site inspections and audits - typically twice per month.
·Produce clear, actionable reports and monthly performance summaries.
·Monitor and support Advisors in achieving inspection targets and closing out actions.
Client & Team Collaboration
·Represent the business at client HSEQ forums.
·Build strong, collaborative relationships with client HSEQ representatives.
·Contribute to continuous improvement through internal communications and shared best practices.
Facilities Oversight
·Support HSEQ matters at regional company premises and ensure legal compliance is upheld.
Key Targets & Deliverables
·Timely delivery of HSEQ inspections and monthly reporting.
·Assist in maintaining ISO and other accreditation standards.
·Contribute to updates of the company's HSEQ management system.
What You'll Bring
·NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) and ideally IOSH or IEMA membership.
·Strong experience in civil engineering - rail sector experience a plus.
·Solid understanding of construction quality controls.
·Analytical mindset with attention to detail and investigative ability.
·Confident communicator - both written and verbal.
·Competence with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
·CSCS Safety Professional Card.
·A passion for raising the bar in health, safety, environment and quality.
·A proactive, hands-on approach - comfortable working both independently and in a team.
