Location: 50 Gold Star Blvd, Worcester MA
Schedule: Full time, 38.75 hours / weekly, Monday through Friday
Primary Responsibilities:
* Escort patients to treatment areas and assist in positioning and proper draping techniques.
* Utilize appropriate patient transfer techniques when assisting with rehabilitation services.
* Utilize appropriate treatment implementation based on therapist plan of care for therapeutic hot / cold modalities, and other functions consistent with his / her competencies.
* Maintain appropriate stocking supplies in all rehabilitation treatment areas including taking inventory, ordering supplies, etc.
* Maintain appropriate inventory of linen in all treatment areas and contact vendor if supply is over / under.
* Prepare patient treatment areas including cleaning and compliance with infection control policies.
* Monitor temperatures and monthly cleaning of hot/cold pack and paraffin machines.
* Monitor Automated External Defibrillator (AED) log and Oxygen (O2) supply logs daily.
* Maintain appearance of gym areas and ensure that rehabilitation equipment is clean and ready to use.
* Clean toys in the pediatric treatment rooms in compliance with infection control policies and provide multifaceted functions in areas, which include clinical clerical secretarial and reception functions.
* Monitor all supplies in the department for expiration dates.
* Maintain confidentiality of all medical information.
* Assist in the organization and effective functioning of the rehabilitation unit.
* Comply with health and safety requirements and with Optum Health and Safety inspections.
* Comply with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
* Enhance professional growth and development through educational programs, seminars, etc.
* Attend a variety of meetings, conferences, seminars, and online training as required or directed.
* Perform other similar and related duties as required or directed.

Required Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Knowledge of various software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
* Able to assist with patient transfers, move medium-sized boxes, move laundry bags and place into carts, transport patients in wheelchair, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Completion of Rehabilitation Aid certification or a MA certification program.
* 1+ years of Rehabilitation Aide experience.
* Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology related to physical rehabilitation.
Physical Requirements:
* Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.
The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $24.42 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
