KPMG’s Strategy & Performance Transformation practice is looking for exceptional candidates for a Senior Associate role, with a Consumer Goods and Retail focus and experience of at least one of our core propositions; Growth Strategy, Deal Strategy, Cost and Operational strategy (including Economic Profitability Analysis) and Enterprise-wide Transformation.
The Strategy & Performance Transformation team is part of KPMG’s rapidly expanding Strategy Group, which delivers value for clients by challenging conventional thinking, bringing deep industry and functional insights and executing with investor-grade rigour. We are a diverse team of over 150 practitioners, working collaboratively with and orchestrating KPMG’s broad set of capabilities within our Deal Advisory business.
Our Strategy and Performance Transformation team works closely with c-suite and senior executives to identify and execute transformation opportunities that add and protect value for shareholders, employees and society. Responsibilities
To be an effective Senior Associate within our Strategy & Performance Transformation, applicants will be expected to:
1. Liaise effectively with clients while working on engagements and act as an 'ambassador' for KPMG
2. Design and run small projects and/or large, complex workstreams with limited oversight
3. Produce client-ready deliverables that exceed expectations and require limited review
4. Develop solutions to complex problems and challenge the thinking of more senior colleagues and clients
5. Contribute to thought leadership and knowledge management activities
6. Construct detailed financial/business models performing complex scenario and sensitivity analysis
7. Ensure the firm's risk management frameworks are adhered to
8. Be a strong effective team player
9. Provide timely feedback and coaching to other team members
10. Support practice development activities to ensure successful delivery of initiatives
Your Experience
Successful applicants will demonstrate the following:
Work Experience:
1. More than 3 years’ experience working in a leading strategy house, Big 4 firm, public sector organisation or strategy/development team in industry
2. Strong foundational understanding of the value drivers within Consumer Goods or Retail businesses
3. Experience of leading project workstreams and taking responsibility for small teams
4. Prior involvement in business development activity and ability to contribute to thought leadership and knowledge management initiatives
5. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with team members and broader (internal and external) stakeholders
Technical skills:
1. Strong academic track record
2. Evidence of strong problem-solving & analytical capabilities
3. Structured thinking skills combined with creativity
4. Ability to evaluate complex challenges and deliver insightful recommendations that can be practically executed
5. Ability to review and assess large volumes of technical data and distil the key strategic insights
6. Strong numerical capabilities combined with sound commercial acumen
7. Ability to build complex financial models that support our recommendations to clients
8. Excellent written and oral communication skills
9. Other language skills would be a strong bonus
