Becklin is made up of 4 acute wards (2 male and 2 female), along with a Crisis Assessment Unit. Becklin ward 1 is a 22 bed female acute inpatient ward, part of the Womens service along with Ward 5. As a Mental Health Staff Nurse on our female acute inpatient unit, your main duties and responsibilities will include: Patient Care: Provide high-quality, compassionate care to female patients experiencing acute mental health crises. Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and respond to any changes in their condition. Care Planning: Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, their families, and the multidisciplinary team. Therapeutic Interventions: Deliver therapeutic interventions, including one-on-one support and group therapy sessions, to help patients manage their mental health conditions. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring all documentation meets legal and regulatory standards. Team Collaboration: Work closely with doctors, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care. Participate in team meetings and case conferences. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies. Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff by adhering to all health and safety regulations and protocols. Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health nursing.
