An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Club as our Women’s Football Operations Manager. Reporting to the Club’s Head of Football Operations, this role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Celtic FC’s Women’s Football department, ensuring the highest standards of support are implemented and maintained.
Job Description
This role is key to the creation and maintenance of an environment which supports success for the Women’s Football department.
The role incumbent will oversee the implementation of the Clubs Women’s Football strategy ensuring effective dissemination throughout Women’s Football and the rest of the Club.
The successful candidate will have an extensive understanding of Women’s Football and football operations. They will be a strong leader with excellent communication skills and good financial acumen.
Key Accountabilities
* Provide effective leadership and direction to Celtic FC’s Women’s First Team colleagues on all operational aspects of Women’s Football and liaise closely with the Head of Girls’ Academy.
* Continuously review and develop football operations to ensure stability, efficiency, consistency and compliance.
* Collaborate closely with the Women’s First Team Head Coach to support day-to-day operations related to Performance Analysis, Medical and Sports Science.
* Work alongside the Women’s First Team Head Coach and Head of Football Operations on recruitment for the Women’s First team and liaise closely with the Head of Girls Academy, having responsibility for contract and onboarding processes.
* Work alongside the Women’s First Team Head Coach and the Head of Football Operations to manage player contracts, transfers and loans in conjunction with agreed budgets, set and managed in accordance with Club processes.
* Work alongside the Football Administration team to ensure effective liaison with relevant regulatory bodies.
* Work alongside Ticket Office colleagues to plan, manage and oversee Women’s First Team ticketing matters including setting pricing structure, ticket offerings and sales.
* Work alongside the Corporate Sales team to plan, manage and oversee hospitality and premium ticket sales for Women’s Football events.
* Work alongside the Business Development and Sponsorship team to procure and fulfil viable commercial partnerships, which are aligned to the wider Club strategy and values.
* Provide regular progress reports to the Head of Football Operations, as required.
* Oversee and lead on regulatory audit processes and ensure continued compliance.
* Ensure continued compliance with all SFA, SWPL, UEFA and FIFA rules and regulations.
* Oversee all operational aspects of Women’s First Team matches both home and away.
* Manage all planning arrangements for Women’s First Team travel, including pre-season camps.
* Regularly attend Women’s Football and Girls’ Academy games, events and forums to build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders including coaches, players and parents.
* Alongside the Head of Academy and Head of Football Operations, create and continuously promote a positive and respectful culture which is conducive to developing elite female footballers.
* Ensure continued compliance with all Club policies and processes across Women’s Football and Girls’ Academy.
* Ensure implementation of the Club’s Health & Safety and Safeguarding policies to create a safe working environment for all.
The Candidate
Essential
* Degree in relevant field such as Sports Management, Business Management or another related field.
* Previous experience working within a football operations role, with proven track record of success in managing multidisciplinary teams.
* Experience delivering strategic plans in a high-performance environment.
* Good financial acumen with experience managing budgets.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence and engage at all levels.
* Empathetic, approachable and the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
* Resilient and proactive, with solution-orientated problem-solving skills.
* Capacity to handle confidential data and information sensitively.
* Good IT skills with good understanding of using Word, PowerPoint, Keynote and Excel.
* Excellent interpersonal, administration and organisational skills.
* A working understanding of inclusion, equality and anti-discrimination, safeguarding and best practice.
Desirable
* Postgraduate degree in a relevant subject such as MSc Sports Directorship.
* Experience in negotiating professional football contracts.
* A well-established network of contacts and working relationships from across football.
* In-depth knowledge of football regulations, transfer markets and Talent ID.
Additional
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and match days will be required.
* Full driving licence.
* Some international travel may be required.
