Full-time, 40 hours per week (split shifts), 52 weeks per annum Accommodation: Free On-site two-bedroom cottage About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Resident Site Manager (Caretaker) to join a prestigious independent preparatory school. This key role ensures the school’s facilities are well-maintained, safe, and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors. The Site Manager will oversee daily site operations, security, swimming pool maintenance, and provide essential support for school events and activities. As the school begins its next phase of site development in 2025, the Site Manager will also coordinate contractors, manage deliveries, and ensure smooth communication to minimise disruption and maintain the site’s high standards. Key Responsibilities 1. Site Security and Operations Open and close the site daily, including early morning and evening lock-ups. Conduct regular security inspections, responding to out-of-hours emergencies. Serve as a Fire Warden and manage fire safety protocols. Ensure site safety during adverse weather by implementing preventative measures. 2. Site Presentation and Maintenance Ensure the school site is tidy, safe, and presentable at all times. Address maintenance issues promptly, liaising with relevant teams as needed. Assist with event set-ups, furniture moves, and operational tasks. 3. Contractor Coordination Support site development projects by managing access for contractors, deliveries, and materials. Ensure clear communication of project updates and contingency plans with staff. 4. Swimming Pool Management Oversee pool maintenance, including water testing and chemical management. Ensure the pool meets all statutory requirements and is safe for use. 5. Emergency Response and Support Act as the first point of contact for emergencies, ensuring safety and resolving issues swiftly. Monitor the site during school events, coordinating parking and other logistics. Skills and Attributes Proven experience in facilities or site management. Strong organisational and communication skills. Practical problem-solving ability and a hands-on approach. Experience in swimming pool maintenance (or willingness to train).
