Internal Auditor
Starting salary from £40,000 per annum dependant on skills and experience
Up to a 10% bonus
Permanent contract 40 hours per week
Located at our offices in Thorpe Park, Leeds
An exciting opportunity has arisen here at Northern Gas Networks (NGN) for an Internal Auditor based at our offices here in Thorpe Park, Leeds. As an Internal Auditor you will work autonomously to manage your own portfolio of work, taking full responsibility for the end-to-end audit in accordance with the annual Internal Audit Plan which will include both operational and financial business areas. You will evaluate risks and controls and perform testing whilst ensuring that your work meets the quality standards which are expected within NGN.
You will be efficient and will be able to work with minimal supervision which will in turn allow you to become a key member of our team. This really is a fantastic opportunity and will allow you to showcase your skills and experience.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities will include but will not be limited to
• The timely completion of risk-based internal audit reviews using different approaches and methodologies
• Agreeing, negotiating and adapting the scope of each audit
• Preparing the draft and final audit reports for circulation
• Discussing with management all audit findings, recommendations, and suggested solutions together with realistic implementation timescales
• Ensure all audits undertaken comply with best practice, legislation and regulatory requirements
• Building and managing effective relationships
• Working with integrity, objectivity and confidentiality
• Assisting with any investigations as required either as part of an audit or as required by the Head of Internal Audit
• Working with business areas to improve risk registers and risk management activities
What we are looking for in our Internal Auditor
• Have demonstrable risk based Internal Audit experience
• Have an excellent understanding of risks and controls
• Have good judgement in terms of identifying audit issues and recommending pragmatic solutions
• Be an excellent communicator and able to liaise, influence and negotiate at all levels of the organisation
• Be detail conscious, professional and flexible
• Have strong commercial acumen
• Ideally have an appropriate and or relevant qualifications in Internal Audit - IIA (preferred)
