Job Description
We are working with a Further Education College, based in south Birmingham, who are recruiting for a HR Manager on a permanent basis, paying up to £45,000 a year.
They are looking for an accomplished HR Manager, experienced in leading on HR operations and acting as a key point of contact for stakeholders, providing professional advice and support across all aspects of HR.
You must be L5 CIPD qualified have a background working within the education/not-for-profit sector.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
* Providing operational line management and co-ordination of the HR team
* Leading and managing the recruitment and selection process, developing a robust system to ensure fairness and appropriate hires
* Ensuring effective pre-employment checks are completed as part of Safer Recruitment and compliance with DBS/safeguarding obligations
* Managing employee relations issues including conducting investigations, grievances, disciplinaries, absences and other meetings in line with company policies and procedures
* Developing and delivering training to line managers on best practice
* Reviewing, updating and drafting HR policies and procedures in line with changes in legislation and company requirements, in conjunction with the Director of HR
Experience required:
* Experience working within the education/not-for-profit sector
* CIPD L5
* Strong generalist HR experience
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
* Understanding of good HR practice, current legislation and policy, ideally within an education setting
* Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with a wide range of people
Working hours:
* 37 Hours p/week
* 8:00 – 4:30 (Mon – Thurs)
* 8:00 – 4:00 (Fri)
