Our Broadbent Road site is a Pupil Referral Unit which offers Day 6 provision for those pupils who have been permanently excluded from an Oldham Secondary School or Academy. Our second site, known as Laurel Bank currently hosts our Specialist Learning Centre and is based in Shaw, Oldham. This provision is for pupils experiencing social, emotional or mental health and medical needs which creates a barrier to their attendance at school. This site also hosts our unique provision catering for pupils from the SLC with an Educational Health Care Plan and is a base for our Primary Outreach Team. Role Overview: We are seeking to appoint an appropriately qualified, experienced, self motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be a qualified HLTA who is able to work flexibly across our sites and with both KS3 and KS4 pupils of all abilities. We are looking for someone who is able to promote positive values, who is able to manage challenging behaviour, conflicts and incidents whilst encouraging pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour and promoting self-control. A key element of this role is to support teachers, deliver PPA and cover teacher sickness absence. You will be expected to: Provide cover for classes, delivering lessons as set by the teacher. Plan and prepare creative and challenging teaching and learning objectives. Assess, record and report on pupils achievements, progress and development. Due to split site arrangements across Oldham the successful candidate must be willing and able to travel independently and at short notice between sites as required.
