This role sits within the Financial Reporting and Accounting team within the Agency's Finance Directorate, reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting and Accounting.
Job Description
The holder of the role will support the Financial Reporting and Accounting team, with a focus on planning, coordinating, and delivering Homes England's Annual Report and Financial Statements, ensuring they are prepared on time, to standard, are free from material misstatements, and are given a clean audit opinion. Alongside this, the holder of the role will be responsible for monthly and quarterly departmental group reporting.
Additionally, the holder of the role will be responsible for the accounting of receivables, payments, fixed and intangible assets, cash, grants, admin costs, programme costs, staff costs (including the co-ordination and preparation of the Remuneration Report), and pensions (including year-end disclosures and co-ordinating the preparation and audit of the Agency's annual Pension Scheme accounts).
Furthermore, the role will support the design and delivery of key strategic projects, including the implementation of a new core finance system and wider business systems.
Person Specification
As an experienced finance professional, you will understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative and inclusive way. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level, and able to establish good relationships with key stakeholders including internal delivery teams and the National Audit Office. You will be able to prioritise to ensure quality work is delivered on a timely basis while being aware of, and escalating key risks.
You will have experience of year-end accounts production and audit, technical accountancy knowledge including IFRS, as well as experience with data interrogation and analysis in Excel.
You will hold a recognised professional accountancy qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, or CIMA.
