CNC Turner
£15.00 per hour (£30,420 + overtime at 1.5), BS16, 33 days holiday, 39 hours per week (Monday to Friday), Flexible start & finish times, Pension, Parking.
Due to retirement, this friendly and established subcontract workshop has an opportunity to join their team as a CNC Turner or Manual Turner or Programmer, reporting to the machining supervisor.
The CNC Turner or Manual Turner or Programmer will involve:
1. Running an XYZ Turning machine with Proturn controls
2. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
3. Managing your own workload with jobs allocated from the machining supervisor
4. Machining precision engineering parts, producing small batches and one-offs to fine tolerances (not normally aerospace)
5. Manual turning would be useful but not essential
Skills required for the CNC Turner or Manual Turner or Programmer:
1. Experience in producing machined parts from engineering drawings
2. If candidates' manual turning skills are strong, the role could focus on this rather than CNC turning
3. The successful candidate is likely to have served an engineering apprenticeship as a skilled machinist; however, candidates who are time-served in machining could also be suitable if they can demonstrate a suitable track record in either CNC turning or manual machining.
Our client operates a subcontract workshop with lots of variety in a small but friendly team of engineers and offers a great opportunity to join an established team.
