A leading global energy company is seeking an experienced Electric, Instrument & Controls Engineering Team Lead to be responsible for directing and coordinating a team of engineers and technical professionals that support the execution of the work programme relating to Electrical, Instrument & Control Systems maintenance, including design and modifications.
Responsibilities:
1. Accountable for the management of Electrical, Instrument & Control Preventative Maintenance strategy to ensure compliance to regulation and company policy.
2. Manage associated integrated service contracts for relevant engineering and maintenance functions.
3. Understand and use functional/regional expertise to contribute to the success of the business.
4. Provide scope / guidance / technical support / input to projects which involve Electrical, Instrumentation and control activities.
5. Review and approve any deviations to EC&I discipline standards and practices.
6. Accountable for EC&I technical responses to discipline related Technical Queries.
7. Technical review and approval of relevant discipline MOCs.
8. Support the effectiveness and motivation of Electrical Instrument & Control team members through monitoring the progress of challenging objectives.
9. Accountable for reviewing and approving relevant Department and plant procedures.
10. Support development and adherence of control system security standards in accordance with company policy.
11. Sponsor the planning and execution of shutdowns and major outages/turnaround.
12. Responsible for monitoring the contract value, ensuring that the work scope is effectively delivered, and the scope is not expanded or changed unless the appropriate process is followed and approved.
13. Generates ideas for cost saving/efficiencies.
14. Coach, support and mentor team members/peers.
15. Significant input to projects completions processes.
Experience & Qualifications:
1. Candidates will hold a Degree qualification within Electrical, Instrument or Controls.
2. Ideally be a Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership within 2 years.
3. Previously held leadership positions within Engineering and Projects functions within the oil, gas, chemical processing or other regulated industry.
4. Contract Management Experience.
5. Sound knowledge of electrical, instrument & control engineering principles and proven ability to apply them to real-world problems.
6. Demonstrate effective interpersonal, leadership skills and supervisory competence.
7. Knowledge of the management and maintenance of Safety Integrity Level (SIL) control.
