Location: Aberystwyth Project Duration: 2 years (Large Refurbishment Project) Employer: Award-Winning Main Contractor Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our client working on a high-profile refurbishment project based in Aberystwyth. Key Responsibilities: Cost Management: Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets to ensure costs align with project goals. Tendering and Procurement: Oversee the tendering process and procure necessary materials, subcontractors, and services. Valuations: Conduct regular valuations and manage payment applications for subcontractors and suppliers. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with the project. Cost Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely cost reports, forecasts, and financial statements for internal and client review. Contract Management: Administer and manage contracts in compliance with relevant terms and conditions. Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery. Candidate Requirements: Background: Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor. Experience: Demonstrated success in refurbishment projects or similar large-scale construction initiatives. Location: Reside within a commutable distance of Aberystwyth or be willing to lodge away during the week. Skills: Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC), excellent numerical and analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Qualifications: Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Membership with RICS or equivalent is desirable.
