Are you an experienced finance or risk professional looking to make a meaningful impact? Join Torus Group as a Group Audit and
Risk Committee Member and play a key role in ensuring strong governance, financial oversight, and risk management within a
purpose-driven organisation. We are seeking a strategic, experienced professional to join our Group Audit and Risk Committee. In
this role, you will work alongside Executive and Non-Executive colleagues to ensure that Torus meets its objectives efficiently,
effectively, and in full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This is an opportunity to bring insight, oversight,
and challenge to a high-profile organisation with a strong social purpose.
* The total time commitment is approximately 10 days per annum which includes Committee meetings, typically held at Offices in
the Heartland Areas of Liverpool, St Helens or Warrington. Other activities include strategic planning events (typically held
annually), induction, appraisal, training and development activities and other ad-hoc meetings for urgent matters.
* The remuneration for this role is £7,125 per annum paid monthly.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide constructive challenge and oversight of the Executive Team.
* Monitor and review internal control and risk management processes.
* Ensure the Group has effective fraud prevention and risk mitigation strategies.
* Oversee the appointment and performance of Internal and External Auditors.
* Monitor compliance with legal, regulatory, and governance requirements.
* Support the development of strategic policies and plans.
* Champion Torus’ values and social purpose, both internally and externally.
What We're Looking For:
* Senior-level experience in finance, accounting, audit, or risk management.
* A background in governance, compliance, or strategic leadership.
* Experience serving as a Non-Executive Director, Trustee, or Committee Member is desirable.
* Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
* A collaborative and engaging leadership style with personal and professional integrity.
* Passion for social impact and community-driven initiatives.
Time Commitment & Remuneration
* Approx. 10 days per year, including:
* Committee meetings (held in Liverpool, St Helens, or Warrington).
* Strategic planning events (annually).
* Induction, training, and development activities.
* Other ad-hoc meetings when required.
* Remuneration: £7,125 per annum (paid monthly).
