Your role will be pivotal in the overall management, control, organisation, and direction for both the Outbound or Inbound operational areas of your FC.
Your responsibilities will include, amongst others:
1. Maintaining Health and Safety standards within your remit area, while promoting an inspiring Health and Safety culture on-site.
2. Responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of either Inbound or Outbound operations.
3. Become a subject matter expert on specific, larger-scale processes and activities within FCs, such as 5S audits.
4. Manage timely data collection and update operations metrics on an hourly basis.
5. Drive creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other Lean initiatives to enable your functional area and ultimately the FC to meet and exceed business plan.
6. Aim to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and ensure an excellent customer experience.
7. Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers, measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Ops Managers accountable for their performance.
8. Work closely with other support teams (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety and Security, IT) on staffing plans, schedules, and performance levels.
9. Ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and among the network.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Previous experience in a similar, innovative logistics, distribution or manufacturing environment.
2. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
3. Previous experience in leading large, diverse teams.
4. Experience in employee and performance management.
5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
6. Ability to manage details, establish and carry out root cause analysis, and then extract and analyse the data you generate.
7. Willingness to relocate if necessary.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Strong operational experience in a fast-growing company/industry.
2. Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies would be highly advantageous.
3. Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons.
4. Proven record of delivering change management initiatives.
