Position: Temporary Accounts Assistant

About the Role
A reputable business based in Woolpit is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a temporary basis to cover a 9-month maternity leave. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive work environment.
Duties
1. Manage obligations to suppliers, customers, and third-party vendors
2. Reconcile financial statements
3. Prepare, send, and store invoices
4. Report on the status of accounts payable
5. Update internal accounting databases and spreadsheets
6. Liaising with other departments and depots
7. Providing support for purchase ledger
8. Reconciling HMRC records for imports
9. Preparing accruals on a monthly basis for external accountant
10. Providing back up for holiday cover within the team
11. Assisting with month end procedures
12. Supporting other departments if and when required
13. Any other administrative or accounts procedures as required
Qualifications and Skills
1. Proven experience in a similar accounts or finance assistant role.
2. Familiarity with accounting software.
3. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
4. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
5. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
