Deputy Head of Department - Maths and English
Location: Rotherham (With occasional travel to other college sites)
Salary: £40,967 per annum
The Role:
This is an exciting development opportunity to shape the provision of English and Maths for both Dearne Valley College learners and Adult part-time learners across the Group.
In this role you will:
1. Operationally lead the Maths & English team at Dearne Valley College and wider colleagues in respect of Study Programmes and Adult Provision across the Group.
2. Ensure the Maths & English curriculum is well planned, focused on the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning and supports learners to achieve their qualifications in English and Mathematics, making outstanding progress.
Skills and Qualifications:
As an experienced leader who has a strong track record of leadership within English and/or maths and excellence in teaching, you will use your extensive experience of curriculum development through effective planning and monitoring of progress in this role.
You will have a good understanding of the EIF and have strong interpersonal skills to be able to support and lead a team of diverse people.
You should have a degree or equivalent in English or Maths and hold a minimum of a Level 3 in the other specialism, along with evidence of recent and relevant CPD.
Department Info:
Leading a team of Skills Coaches, Lecturers and Advanced Teachers, you will report to the Head of Department - English and Maths and be part of the College Management Team.
