Assistant Headteacher (Primary) - SEND and Inclusion
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: April 2025
Salary: L10 – L14 dependant on experience

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Headteacher with expertise in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and inclusion to join our dynamic leadership team. Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 SEND and EAL provision, ensuring high-quality support for all students with additional needs.
* Champion an inclusive ethos across the school, ensuring that all children are valued and supported to achieve their full potential.
* Work closely with class teachers, support staff, and external agencies to deliver effective strategies and interventions.
* Provide guidance and support to colleagues, ensuring the implementation of high-quality, evidence-based practices in SEND and inclusion.
* Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEND provision and strategies, using data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children with SEND.
* Contribute to whole-school leadership and strategic planning, ensuring SEND and inclusion are key priorities within the school’s development.
* Work closely with the SENDCo and KS3 and KS4 leaders.
Person Specification:
* Proven experience in a senior leadership role, with a specific focus on SEND and inclusion within a primary school setting.
* Strong understanding of current SEND legislation, best practice, and strategies for inclusion.
* Experience in leading a team, coaching staff, and driving change to improve outcomes for children with SEND.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong, positive relationships with staff, parents, and external agencies.
* A clear vision for inclusive education and a passion for ensuring every child can achieve success, regardless of their individual needs.
* Ability to analyse data, monitor progress, and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision.
* Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant leadership or SEND qualifications (e.g., SENCo qualification).
