As the Thriving Families Senior Worker, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and be based at one of the locality hubs across the City of Manchester. You will be providing intensive support to families who are currently on Child Protection or Child in Need Plans who have drug and/or alcohol misuse issues which could potentially be putting their children, families or themselves at risk. You will co-ordinate and deliver 1-2-1 interventions, including group based and intensive support packages, enabling families to be able to consider the impacts, identify strengths and re-build their connections to each other in order that vulnerabilities are reduced and that all family members receive the support they need. As the Senior Worker, you will also provide direct line management support for two Family Workers located across the Thriving Families Teams. The role will also involve leading on the development and promotion of our whole family offer and working together with families and range of integrated partners to realise this new ambition. You will ensure a positive learning environment where integrity and professionalism are paramount, whilst empowering families to ensure all attempts at positive outcomes are achieved for those using the service. You will also develop and maintain excellent working relationships with partners both internally within the multi-agency hub and externally with wider partnerships. Where: Manchester Hours: 37.5 per week Salary Scale: £32,002.35 to £34,214.21 dependant on experience (based on full time working hours, pro rata for part time hours) Contract - This is initially a fixed term opportunity until the 31st of March 2026 - subject to review. Key points about the role: Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide family interventions that help to reduce parental substance misuse and the impact substance misuse has on children and young people. Types of interventions to include, whole family, time focussed interventions, group programmes and 1-2-1 psychosocial based interventions with parents who recovering from substance use. Undertaking direct work with families and parents, utilising recognised evidence-based interventions that support whole families in recovery, build resilience and enable positive changes to family functioning. Supporting the effective safeguarding of families through contribution to multi-agency plans, timely identification of risks, vulnerabilities and responding accordingly with safety planning and onward referrals to the relevant services where required. Have a leading role in building relationships internally, and with wider partnerships while promoting and embedding the services whole family approach to familial substance misuse. Complete risk assessments and risk management plans. To effectively maintain case management systems, reports, and notes in a timely and organised manner. Deliver training and consultation to other professionals on the issues/implications and impact around substance misuse. About you: Work flexibly across operational sites as required.
