At Prestwick, we repair and overhaul aircraft engine fuel controls, for customers in Europe, Middle East and Asia. We are preparing and strengthening our site for future growth and require a new Operations Supervisor to grow our team. Are you ready to make your mark at Woodward? The Operations Supervisors are responsible for directing the operations teams here at Woodward Prestwick, who repair, overhaul, stock and ship aircraft engine fuel controls, to customers in Europe, Middle East and Asia. Reporting to the General Manager, this position is a strong contributor to supporting and achieving site level organizational objectives. You will be responsible for leading, developing and motivating the operations teams to achieve departmental workload, individual goals and performance measures, ensuring members adhere to all work instructions and quality requirements. Working with moderate guidance and supervision from your leader or more senior level peers, you are responsible for managing the operations budgets for expenses and headcount. The role is responsible for maintaining training plans (e.g. Job specific, ISO, QS, Aviation Certifications, etc.) and ensure members certifications and training requirements are kept current as required for position. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Solid knowledge of business computer systems and PC tools (e.g. WISE, SAP, MS Office). Ability to quickly learn processes, equipment and tools used in specific areas of responsibility. Solid communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to drive continuous improvement activities through strong team-building and problem-solving Ability to effectively organize and prioritize day-to-day activities and issues within functional area. Ability to delegate effectively and follow through on assigned tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to deliver presentations in a comprehensive and professional manner to department and peers. Ability to make decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure. Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to motivate teams and resolve member related issues. Basic knowledge of the Six Sigma processes and the ability to apply Six Sigma principles to production process for continual improvement and operational effectiveness. Qualifications/Experience Previous leadership experience required (e.g. direct leadership, team lead, mentoring, projects, etc.). Previous operations experience/knowledge required. HNC/HND/Degree in relevant discipline or international equivalent.
