Your work will protect and promote Bupa’s reputation through proactive campaigns and strong reactive issues management across UK and global business lines. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of healthcare communication in the UK, leveraging Bupa's position as a leading provider of health services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Bupa’s media relations agenda across the Bupa Global, India, and UK (BGIUK) market unit. Provide executive support, counsel, and guidance to the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and the BGIUK Executive Team.
2. Develop and execute strategic media campaigns to drive reputation, awareness, and commercial growth. Manage proactive and reactive media relations, ensuring alignment across multiple audiences.
3. Interpret the media landscape and provide insight-led advice to mitigate risks and create conditions for growth. Manage reputational risks and opportunities across BGIUK business lines.
4. Lead the Media Relations team, overseeing all business line external campaigns. Ensure senior executives are media trained and fully briefed prior to any media interview.
5. Build relationships with key media and stakeholders to strengthen understanding of our business, generate goodwill, and minimize negative impact.
What We’re Looking For
6. Significant leadership experience in complex, fast-paced environments
7. Broad experience in communications or Corporate Affairs, including crisis management.
8. Degree level qualification in communications, journalism, media, business, or organizational development.
9. Strong commercial acumen, excellent writing and presentation skills, analytical skills, and the ability to assume full responsibility for key projects.
10. Effective team player with line management experience.
11. Ability to engage respectfully with Executive level stakeholders and wider business
12. Confidence to lead a busy press office day-to-day.
