Clinical Planning · Plan sessions/appointments for clinical staff ensuring the appointments are booked as efficiently and equitably as possible, ensuring all sites are covered. · Ensure new staff have clinical sessions templates set up correctly. · Arrange for the clinical planner to be circulated to relevant staff. · Respond to requests to change the clinical planner from colleagues and as a result of staff absence. · Inform all relevant staff of clinical staff absence. · Call or send text messages to patients when appointments need to be cancelled. · Ensure reception staff contact patients to rearrange appointments that need cancelling either directly or via the Reception Manager or Reception Supervisor. · Allocate clinical rooms at all surgery sites ensuring each clinician has access to the correct working environment. · Record GP Holidays, time off and course attendances. · Arrange locum cover when needed either direct or through agencies · Improved Access and Extended hour rotas and reporting. · Flu clinic planning. Vasectomy Clinic · Book vasectomy appointments from Choose and Book and direct clinician referral · Produce the paperwork required for vasectomy clinics including ICE forms, sample pots, letters to own GP and consent forms. · Allocate vasectomy related work to reception staff and monitor the quality of this work · Negotiate clinician availability and holiday cover. · Contact patients and provide them with information as needed. Answer patient queries in a supportive manner. · Contact patients at the request of clinicians to book appointments following tests and other investigations · Contact patients at the request of clinicians to inform them of their test results as directed by clinicians Minor Surgery · Book minor surgery appointments · Contact patients and provide them with information as needed. Answer patient queries in a supportive manner.
