GLOBAL INVESTMENT RESEARCH
Goldman Sachs develops global client-focused research in economics, portfolio strategy, derivatives and equity and credit securities. The Global Investment Research division produces fundamental, value-added research and analysis of industries, companies and economies, mining big data that enters markets around the world each day to identify game-changing insights. Our clients use these insights and investment ideas to develop their strategies. We deliver original, client-focused research in the equity, fixed-income, currency, and commodities markets.
Our research teams continually identify and analyse financial information, strategic issues and trends on a regional and global scale. From macroeconomic forecasts to individual stock analysis, our team develops tools and insights to help shape investment strategies for clients and the firm.
ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for an Analyst to join the Merchandising team within Global Investment Research. Our Merchandising team is responsible for distributing and marketing research content to the Global Markets Division and to external clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Curate and distribute GIR content to ensure product has maximum commercial impact
2. Present research ideas daily to Sales, Sales-Traders and Traders
3. Monitor market activity, recognizing ‘breaking news’ and work with research analysts to ensure timely and commercial response
4. Work with Content Management and Divisional leadership to oversee the research product pipeline
5. Facilitate feedback between Securities division and Research in Europe
6. Think strategically about product placement and amplification (via webcasts, client conference calls, infographics, pop-up conferences etc)
7. Work with research analysts pre- and post-publication to maximize commercial impact
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Strong interest in European Equities and fluency in financial terminology
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
3. Ability to work and think clearly under pressure
4. Ability to digest and summarise information quickly
5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
6. FCA registration required (must be obtained within first six months of employment)
